Iran’s ‘The Birds Beyond the Lake’ to go to deadCenter

Iran’s ‘The Birds Beyond the Lake’ has been set to compete at the 23rd edition of the deadCenter Film Festival in the US.

Directed by Vahid Rad, ‘The Birds Beyond the Lake’ is about a little boy called Mahmoud, who is going to be circumcised the next day, so he runs away from home.

According to an earlier report, Iranian short flick ‘Sampo’ by Marzieh Riahi is also slated to participate in the Oscar-qualifying DeadCenter Film Festival.

The 2023 edition of the Academy Award-qualifying event will take place on June 8-11 in Oklahoma City, the US.
